AD Making Segment

About the competition

The AD Maker segment of MindSparks23 organized by the Aust Innovation & Design Club, is an exciting opportunity for participants to showcase their creative and strategic skills in advertisement video production. The segment consists of two parts: Part 1 focuses on creating an advertisement video to promote MindSparks23 itself, while Part 2 requires participants to create an advertisement video for a commercial product.

Participants can enter the AD Maker segment as individuals or in teams of up to four members. They are encouraged to think outside the box, leverage their storytelling abilities, and produce engaging videos that capture the essence of the event and the commercial products.

Rules and Regulations:

Eligibility:

a) The AD Maker segment is open to all registered participants of Ad Maker in MindSparks23.

b) Participants can enter as individuals or as a team with a maximum of four members. (Can be from mixed institutions)

c) Participants must comply with the overall rules and regulations of MindSparks23.

Registration:

a) Participants must register for the AD Maker segment during the designated registration period.

b) Registration details, including participant/team name, and contact information, must be submitted through the official registration portal.

Video Guidelines:

a) The advertisement videos must be original creations and should not infringe upon any copyright or intellectual property rights.

b) Each video must be no longer than 2 minutes in duration.

c) Participants must ensure that their videos adhere to the theme and requirements of the specific part they are participating in (MindSparks23 promotion or commercial product advertisement).

d) Videos should be in a standard video format (e.g., .mp4, .mov) and must be uploaded to a designated online platform during the submission period.

e) Any editing software and equipment can be used to create the videos.

Submission:

a) Participants must submit their videos by the specified deadline.

b) Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

c) The submission must include the participant/team name and a brief description of the video’s concept or message.

Judging Criteria:

  1. Videos will be evaluated based on creativity, concept, execution, relevance to the theme, and overall impact.
  2. Judges’ decisions will be final and cannot be appealed.
  3. Participants will be notified of the results according to the event schedule.

 

Intellectual Property:

  1. By submitting their videos, participants grant Aust Innovation & Design Club the right to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute the videos for promotional purposes.
  2. The participants retain the intellectual property rights for their videos but may be required to provide the organizers with a non-exclusive license to use their work.

 

Code of Conduct:

  1. Participants must adhere to the event’s code of conduct, which prohibits any form of discrimination, harassment, or unethical behavior.
  2. Plagiarism or the use of copyrighted material without proper authorization is strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification.

 

Disqualification:

  1. Participants may be disqualified if they fail to comply with the rules and regulations stated in this rule book or exhibit any unsportsmanlike conduct.
  2. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant/team found in violation of the rules.
